Do you mind if I sit back a little? Because your breath is very bad.

I have no allegiance whatsoever to ALPA, so trust me when I say I'm not carrying water for anyone.
Envoy is far from perfect, but for a new pilot to the industry (especially someone who is young and can suck it up at the regionals for a few years) it is a good option. If I was told in my mid 20's that I could be at AA in a few years if I went to envoy first, I would say sign me up. But maybe that's just me.
If I have lied or mislead anybody on here, please call me out and tell me where.

The regionals will shrink to 1/3rd their previous size as we all see currently transpiring across the industry.
AA is using flow to artificially keep from having to raise wages. That will work for a while. In any event, with current hiring trends it's a good time to be at an AAG WO; especially ENY or PDT.

I hope you people see the complete hypocracy and lunacy here. NO TECH OR SIM EVAL!!!!
The only difference between Envoy's "in-person" interviews and Mesa's phone interviews is that Envoy gets to see your ugly mug before you show up for class. Beyond that, they even are proudly exclaiming they don't care if you can fly a basic ILS or read an approach plate. I'd say this is even worse than Mesa.

With the intelligence and comprehension skills you demonstrate on this forum it's no surprise Eagle/Envoy didn't hire you.

Jochi, that's not a problem. The FAA has a history of being able to be bought off. Take a look and see how many people in decision making positions eventually left the FAA and are consulting for the airlines or are employes of the airline after they made a decision in favor of airline management. A couple of dollars under the table and the FAA looks the other way.

Just speaking on a macro level, a pilot entering the 121 world today is going to have a much different ride than someone entering the profession 5 years ago.
It's funny when guys that have finally moved on after the lost decade, post here in the regional section, and dream up scenarios where pilots get screwed because of X or Y happening. The paradigm has shifted, and they are stuck in the lost decade. The next decade will not look anything like the last one.
I am currently building my resume at Envoy (very junior), do you know what my plan is if the flow gets screwed? Go somewhere else! It's remarkable easy to find another job flying airplanes these days! With a couple of years 121 experience, LCC's are already taking guys like me. Overseas carriers are also starting to hurt for pilots. Pilot supply is only going to get tighter.
So, I guess I'm speaking to the new guys entering the 121 world when I say, don't stress too much about where to go. Your skills are in demand. If things don't work out at the place you choose, go somewhere else. With a couple of years experience, it will most likely be a move up.
It's a good time to be an airline pilot.
