What was the reason for signing a "contract" as a CFI? Why didn't you just apply like everyone else? They literally will hire anyone with a pulse these days, it's like back in the mid-2000's. I shotgunned out 24 resumes got 23 calls for interview in under a month.

For the sake of only 5k it might be worth it to pay them off vs setting yourself back a couple years.

The Regional industry is cyclical. Today's cautionary tale is tomorrow's place to be...and around and around we go. By the time you hit 1,500 things should have stabilized here at Envoy. I'm not feeling tok good about our new MEC chair and that may be a problem..but we have an ammendment round coming up in 2016...so expect the remaining 20 E-175s to be offered then.
Chin up man...by the time you get a class date most of this crap will have blown over.

It's possible, it would flush all those senior guys out of the system. However they'd have to do it soon for it to make sense. Also it would put those on notice at Piedmont and PSA to not skip the flow, as if they did it to Envoy they'd do it to them as well.
They don't need the lift of those smaller RJs any more, they are being replaced and any subsequent lift they'd need can be hired out to AWAC or done on PSA 50 seaters.
Moral of the story? Learn to pick your battles.

Maybe, maybe not. We will have a clearer picture in about a year. That is when we are supposed to negotiate amendments to our contract.
As of right now I believe AA will offer us the remaining 20 E-175s during those talks. Maybe the 90 options, but not much else. If so, then AA will have three wholly owned Regionals roughly equal in size...just like they always wanted.
If they don't offer us any aircraft...then yes. It's game over. But it will be another year before we have a clear picture of what is going on.
