Well it's called life! And if you need to eat, there's always a job at McDonalds. Not to mention, this is short-lived and you will make excellent money as soon as you do get back in. So yes, it strikes me a little whiny, or perhaps it's just a lack of persepective of what this industry can be like.
Lemme guess, you had to walk to indoc uphill both ways back in the day?

Once hiring picks back up next year at AA and DL then MQ will have to take more than just cadets and DEC’s.

Internal rumor says the November 18th class date was offered to the rest of the pilots affected by the cancellation of the May Orientation date, just like others have said up-thread. I am surprised Envoy gave as much notice as they did since I feel like they have a tendency to constantly re-evaluate and not make promises very far ahead. I would think those previously offered a June Orientation are next in line in the spirit of making up for un-fulfilled promises.
I'm not seeing much movement in my corner of Envoy--aside from people upgrading above me from the July awards--and they have continued to ask pilots to take time off without pay. There should have been a vacancy award this week for base transfers and upgrades since the contract requires one 4 times a year and there wasn't. Hopefully a December new hire class date will be announced soon, but I don't think the flood gates are opening just yet. It has only been a week since the November 18th class was announced.
I'm hoping 2025 is a better hiring year for all of us.

Have cadets from the June/July cancelled classes been assigned a new date?

Anybody hear anything about FO CRBs starting up again? I got the pre offer of employment at the end of July, and I know it's a lot more recent than most folks who've been waiting. I've got a CJO from another regional with a class date early 2025, but I'd REALLY rather fly for MQ.
