When the company has been short on captains, they prioritized calling in DEC candidates first. Now Envoy doesn't need captains and they say they are calling cadets in first. They can call people in any order they choose because you aren't covered by the pilot contract until you are an employee. Since Envoy isn't hurting for captains, it makes sense they are trying to prioritize the cadets they have had commitments to the longest. This isn't going to make everyone happy but nothing ever does. I don't think they like making people wait, so they ignore calls and emails and bury their heads in the sand. Tracking and honoring prior assigned class dates would be more work for them. It's easier to look at their CJO pool and sort by the date they became cadets.
What a great company to work for, especially with all the false promises from the last 6 months. Just wow.

Some potential good news from the mainline side of things. The AA forum has some rumors of classes starting early January and planning on a net hiring (CJOs)of anywhere from 1500-2300 new pilots next year. Here are some quotes from there:

- "New rumor of weekly new hire classes restarting Jan 8th with a size of 40 per class."
- "Flew with someone who finished up CQT — 2,300 for 2025 is the initial plan. Fingers crossed as well."

That would mean envoy would probably need to start classes up 2-3 months before that to not get caught behind as people leave for AA, DL, and UA in January.

It appears that they will not assign new class dates in the original order that they were cancelled. Everyone went back in a generic pool and all envoy cadets that got their hours in the past months will get the new class dates first, then street hires. Can someone with more official sources confirm this?

That is good news to hear since I have been a Cadet since May 2023 and hit my hours in May of 2024. That is however, very unforuntate for those that were already in the que but had to wait due to the slow down. It's tough all over right now, but I have hopes for the New Year.

How many other people in this forum are Cadets?

The fact that the cadets are placed into new class dates ahead of street hires is what Envoy told their cadets in August when they "confirmed" that they had to stop hiring temporarily due - though that part was already clear for a few months due to American's pause and eligible Envoy candidates not receiving their class dates. As for the rumors that hiring will start back up on the American side in January leading Envoy to start even sooner - I have not yet heard any confirmation from American, still complete radio silence for now.

I heard Piedmont has started running new hire classes again. Since the wholly owned AA regionals tend to take similar actions based off of similar information, I would guess Envoy will decide to run new hire classes within the next couple months. The rumor mill says there will be more new hire classes by the end of the year. I don't know where those rumors are coming from and I have no connection to the training department.

Just came back from recurrent. A company guy told us we are going to hire when American begins hiring, which they project is Jan 2025. Not sure how we are supposed to staff the 12 new planes coming in the next 3 months if that is the case.

Competitive mins are ATP mins with ATP written done. They will not interview you without having the written completed.
