Ive heard the rumors about September and October dates. If they do start classes agine this year I highly doubt it will be that big of classes maby 5-10 pilots per class. Also most airlines including Envoy dont do classes in December I belive.

They usually don’t do the last two weeks of the month. UA is planning to hire 200 in December. So the notion airlines don’t hire in December isn’t always true.

As far as I know for the benefits, any remaining unused vacation pay (from the Cadet instructor job) is paid out lump sump, whereas any remaining sick pay will not be paid out. I do not know about the healthcare deductions or whether your healthcare is on hold.
I am a little surprised about the part where Envoy is fine with leaving the flight instructor job upon meeting all of the FO transition requirements. When I talked to them as recently as August, they did mention to me that they don't recommend resignation from my flight school until I have an indoc date.

For all cadets, does anyone know the status of our benefits in this limbo stage? I’ve used my flight benefits several times, but Envoy is supposed to take my healthcare fees out of my paycheck. I have left my instructor position, which they said is fine because I have all my requirements met for the FO transition. Since I have no paycheck now, there’s no money from which to deduct healthcare. Am I going to owe all of those deductions in a lump sum when I finally get onboarded? Is my healthcare on hold?

Someone I know as an FO at the company has told me captains are telling him the same rumors. A recent upgraded captain of his that was at HQ was told about November starts by the staff there. Full classes. Who knows at this point

"The Pool"
I apologize if this has already been addressed but those who had a class in May and have heard Radio Silence, when did you get your CJO? I ask as I received my CJO in early May and am curious how big the Pool is before me...

I was onboarded as a cadet 6/19/23. Hit 1500 hours 2/28/24. Had all my paperwork signed and turned in 3/6/24. Got a 5/9/24 indoc date. Still waiting with radio silence.

Has anyone heard the order they are planning on calling cadets back? Either by date of hire into the cadet program or by the date the CJO was received. I've heard both but has anyone been able to confirm one way or the other?

I’ve always been under the impression that it’s supposed to be by your hire seniority date, which would be the date that you were brought into the cadet program. But that’s a good question to raise for those who may have been in the program longer, but also took longer to reach their minimums and have now hit their time during this no-training period. Do they get placed before those who hit their minimums earlier than them and originally got an indoc date before them? I would guess that once all of our indoc dates were stripped, we just went back to the pilot pool, and new indoc dates will be assigned by seniority date and not previous indoc class dates. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This sounds like a good guess to me. Once you are in Indoc--or whatever smaller version of Orientation they are doing now which seems to be onboarding only the pilots who are starting Indoc 4 or 5 days later--seniority is awarded first to cadets by the date they entered the cadet program, then to people with prior part 121 time, highest to lowest, then everyone else, oldest to youngest. When the company has been short on captains, they prioritized calling in DEC candidates first. Now Envoy doesn't need captains and they say they are calling cadets in first. They can call people in any order they choose because you aren't covered by the pilot contract until you are an employee. Since Envoy isn't hurting for captains, it makes sense they are trying to prioritize the cadets they have had commitments to the longest. This isn't going to make everyone happy but nothing ever does. I don't think they like making people wait, so they ignore calls and emails and bury their heads in the sand. Tracking and honoring prior assigned class dates would be more work for them. It's easier to look at their CJO pool and sort by the date they became cadets.
