Well may have spoke too soon. Just heard from a friend in the training department that all of the september and october classes have also been "zeroed" out. So as of now nothing till November... Looking more and more likely that they may push to next year at this rate. PSA seems to being strong with their classes, not sure why Envoy is not especially with 29 new airplanes this year. At this point we can only hope that these forecasted class numbers change for the better and things pick up after the summer.

I guess it could but they said it means that the training department is requesting "zero" FOs or CAs in that indoc period. But I really do hope for all of our sakes that it means they are just making changes to the forecast. I will ask again in a week or so and see if it changes.

Some of my FO friends who have been ther 1-2 years are saying that they are so understaffed right now to the point that they are not letting them drop trips.

This airline hasn’t allowed people to drop trips since pre-COVID. Why would they? It forces them to use a reserve pilot, and regionals want to run as lean as possible. We don’t really need FO’s, we rarely zero out the FO reserve list. We need CA’s for sure, but that’s every regional. With PBS, and more efficient trips, we’ll need even less pilots.
