Hey there, Just to give an idea to people reading, I interviewed with a CJO back in April. I have emailed them a few times regarding any idea of a possible schedule/ start date/ etc. They are quick to email back but do not give any definitive time line. Its mostly a "when we get to your name we will call and email you regarding your start date". So it looks like patience will hopefully pay off. Fingers crossed they call me soon!

ATPCTP, and ATP written done.

Well may have spoke too soon. Just heard from a friend in the training department that all of the september and october classes have also been "zeroed" out. So as of now nothing till November... Looking more and more likely that they may push to next year at this rate. PSA seems to being strong with their classes, not sure why Envoy is not especially with 29 new airplanes this year. At this point we can only hope that these forecasted class numbers change for the better and things pick up after the summer.

What does "zeroed out" mean? Could they be doing that in preparation for new forecasted numbers?

I guess it could but they said it means that the training department is requesting "zero" FOs or CAs in that indoc period. But I really do hope for all of our sakes that it means they are just making changes to the forecast. I will ask again in a week or so and see if it changes.

Is that a net gain of 29 planes AFTER accounting for the retirement of the 145? If not, that could be a reason you're over staffed which will eventually even out to where it should be.

That could be the case. The email that was sent out earlier in the year made it seem that these deliveries were meant to grow verse cancel out the retirement of the 145.

Some of my FO friends who have been ther 1-2 years are saying that they are so understaffed right now to the point that they are not letting them drop trips.

This airline hasn’t allowed people to drop trips since pre-COVID. Why would they? It forces them to use a reserve pilot, and regionals want to run as lean as possible. We don’t really need FO’s, we rarely zero out the FO reserve list. We need CA’s for sure, but that’s every regional. With PBS, and more efficient trips, we’ll need even less pilots.

Forgive the noob question, but wasn't there some kind of vacancy bid recently with 100+ openings for FOs in ORD alone? How could it be that Envoy isn't in need of FOs?

Had many people they could drop trips up until a few weeks ago so not sure what you are experiencing with that. They are also good on captains at least DECs, they have enough qualified FOs to upgrade.

Um, no. Until about a month ago, on the FO side, you could drop trips pretty regularly. Also, the FO reserve list has been zeroed out multiple times this month. Until last month, a senior FO could bid reserve and never work, like I did. This month, I've been called every day. In DFW, there are currently more CA than FO on the base list.
