Hiring / class pauses

I found an announcement on the Envoy site in January that we are adding 19 planes this year. Then I went to planespotters.net and counted 39 E170s and E175s added to the Envoy certificate in 2024. Some are still in maintenance and haven't made it to the line. I think we're ahead of all the announcements so it's impossible to guess how many more we might get this year. I don't know how many crews per plane they plan.
Another rumor floating around is Embraer wants to delivery future factory new 175s with the latest FMS software. Good thing is that would force Envoy to upgrade the entire fleet. And that's the downside- having to flip the switch on the rest of the fleet in a timely matter.
One way around the scope clause would be to merge the WO into AA. But yeah, THAT long standing rumor.......

Last email in March said we had received 7 with 22 more to come (29 total). But who knows? Supposedly another 12 as well in 2025. Maybe some of those got bumped up.

Many speculated that Piedmont would be getting the bulk, if not all, of the recent AA Embraer orders (90) to replace their 145s. But with AA freezing hiring and that trickling down to the WOs is showing. Piedmont has supposedly rescinded CJOs indefinitely, Envoy has slowed hiring way back.....

Well before it was deleted like 10 minutes after it was posted, Aero Crew News posted that PSA has paused pilot hiring. It did not state for how long the pause would be. I would assume it will be posted again here soon though. I grabbed a screenshot of it if anyone would like me to share it with them you can dm me.
Hopefully this doesn't mean that Envoy is the next to fall (although it would be). The last indoc class (July 1st) had 9 people in it so hopefully the trend of bigger classes will keep up, we will see on Monday for the next group.
Has anyone from the May orientation heard anything from them recently?

I am from the canceled May 9 orientation class and am a cadet. I received a response in less than a minute when I reached out to them this morning. Very clear copy and paste; they didn’t even bother to address me by name, rather “envoy Future Pilots.” They removed the “We are still currently about 3 - 4 weeks out” nonsense, as it’s been 3 weeks now since I last reached out to them. This time they just said that they’re continuing to work down the list of pilots and that I’ll hear something once they are “closer” to my name.

I noticed envoy posted another new group of 9 pilots today after posting 9 more last week. Does anyone know if they are just catching up or have they switched to doing small indoc classes every week instead of "big" ones every two weeks?

You are only going to hear rumors on here since the people in recruiting and training aren't posting on here. During recurrent 3 weeks ago, a sim instructor told me that classes would be small during the summer while they sent 22 sim instructors to fly the line and training would pick back up in September. I heard another rumor that training would focus on upgrades in August and not run Indoc. Truth is the training department doesn't plan very far ahead and all that could change at any time based on the needs of the company and how much AA wants to save money after posting a loss. I would expect to get 2-3 weeks notice for a class date. They will leave you hanging until then.
I do hope you all get a class date soon.

ALPA emailed their analysis of the recent system bid today. There were no forced upgrades; there haven't been any for at least 6 months. There were 19 ORD CA vacancies unfilled, so FOs reaching 950 hours before the next system bid will be allowed to bid ORD CA at any time. All bases had unfilled FO vacancies but ORD had 101 unfilled FO vacancies. This indicates to me that Envoy plans to continue training new FOs.
The most junior pilot in each base had a hire date of:
PHX CA - DEC 2023
MIA CA - JAN 2024
ORD CA - MAY 2024
DFW CA - FEB 2024
PHX FO - APR 2024
MIA FO - APR 2024
ORD FO - JUN 2024
DFW FO - MAR 2024

What's the wait currently for a class date?
Have my interview early October.
I'm in training at ABX right now, but still want to have options incase ABX is really slow.
Not sure if it would be worth lateraling to Envoy with the goal being majors, especially with how my seniority is going to be riding this growth wave from Amazon planes/the slow down of having to restart going through another training event...
