I'm just a line pilot. In January 2023, the review board rescinded my CJO with a letter in the mail after about 3 weeks due to lack of flight currency. A week after that, they called and offered me a jet refresher course in their sim as a condition of employment as a DEC. They can do whatever they want and it's going to change with the times.
Speculating isn't going to do you any good. Focus on the things you can control, like making backup plans, and hope for the best.

Definitely have a back up plan in the event that they hold you guys in limbo for a while. Get somewhere and start building 121 hours.

They are likely waiting for the vacancy bid to go through and figure out how many upgrades they'll have later this year. The bid is supposed to run July 2nd. If enough upgrade, they might start convening the CRB to hand out CJOs to new hire FOs again. This is just my guess and I haven't heard anything. For reference, when I was hired last year, I waited 2 weeks for my CRB before being offered a class date. It isn't supposed to be an extension of the interview - just a review period for your application to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary.

I agree, plan for the worst and hope for the best. It's always good to have a backup plan.

No. If you want to go to AA faster than the flow, go to a DL/UA regional carrier. GoJet, CommutAir, Endeavor, Mesa, etc. There are even rumors that AA will blacklist WO pilots who try and jump to a ULCC or Major in the hopes of going to AA.

I heard during recurrent that Envoy thinks it no longer needs more DECs, which is why they ended the bonus. I did meet a couple DECs and FOs going through initial sim training. I saw a ground school class of 7 that looked like young FOs. It will be interesting to see if there are forced upgrades on the next award, I am guessing there won't be.

Yes, if you are female, legacy, or influencer.
When AA resumed hiring in 2021, the first 6 months they hired about 30 pilots outside the flow, and 28 were of those groups.
Smart money goes elsewhere and gets hired outside the flow in a few months.

Has anyone received anything besides the canned/autoreply email in the last week?
I'm wondering if there have been any updates on classes since the picture of the class of 7.
Were those all cadets or some street hires and how long have they been waiting?

Also, if anyone knows, whenever they are ready for us will they email us? I’m taking a Euro vacation, and my phone number doesn’t work at the moment. When I originally had my 5/9 date, they emailed me like 6 times in the span of a week, so I feel like I would also get an email?
