in a vacuum wouldn’t the compass planes be filling the void in your scenario.

I’ve heard this too, with the added caveat of needing to commit to stay until flow.

POPPYCOCK! It would be absolutely foolish to stay and not build seniority at a major carrier; just another bait to make folks stay at a dumpy regional.

Precisely this. The only way they're going to stop the mass exodus it to give everyone AA seniority numbers... which isn't going to happen.

Which year 2 AA F/O rates are we talking about? There's a big difference between $90 E-190 F/O pay and $178 F/O pay on the 787.

I can say that if there are improvements slated for the WOs, no one from ALPA is currently aware.

The 16% contribution rumor is one I heard beginning about April 2019. So it’s been around for a long time and yet nothing.

As for the pay rumor, I have yet to hear it from any credible source. But the way I heard it is that American will offer Captains year 2 Group 2 FO rate ($137 /hour) if they sign a contract stating they won’t leave the WO until they flow.

It might work, it might not if true...

I know unions try, but at this level they are virtually useless. Of course they dont know because management doesn't want them to know yet. Unions get to argue for something that AA/Envoy have already decided on. Just like the pay raises, management knew they needed to pay more, they just chose a number to max out at and let the union think they actually had some negotiation in the matter. The problem is that this isnt our final stop in our career and thus, management knows there is little anyone will do that might hinder moving on, unlike mainline where these pilots are not going anywhere, so are more willing to press the buttons that need to be pressed.

The héros of our union are the contract compliance committee, since they actually have real impact on our lives in relation to how the company treats us.

If anyone on the MEC wants to dispute anything I just said, I would love to hear it, but as usual we, the PAYING members, the ones paying their salaries, are left in the dark, not allowed to vote on important contract changes and essentially just have to sit, nervously waiting for the next change.

I will say, I am happy that some of our MEC got elected and I HOPE they turn away from the status qou of past officers. Things need to change, we live in the information era, we need to be involved and be kept in the loop. Our futures are decided with information and we are left in the dark, it makes things difficult.
