OK that makes sense, pretty easy and straightforward.

Where do commuter hotels come from? I’m not seeing it anywhere in the contract.

They're not in the 'Contract'. Like many things that we temporarily enjoy, they're short term bandaids. Albiet the commuter hotels have been a blessing, and a game changer; allowing us (commuters) to more freely pick up OT, and not bang out or find a reason to ditch a trip when an overnight cancels, or we get stuck with a non-commutable trip.
There's a reason all of our bonuses, commuter hotels, LGA CA forced upgrade perks, ect are stuffed into temp LOA's; They can be ended overnight, and all we really have beneath the surface of glitter and cheap Dollar General makeup, is the sh!ttiest reserve and pay contract in the regional game.

This is all mostly true. I will add that our contract is a “bankruptcy “ contract and all the loa’s are out in to help the company get pilots in the door or to keep them there.

Yes you read that correctly, AA has record profits and we are still under the umbrella of a bankruptcy, concessionaire contract.

We are actually under a concessionary contract that was forced down our throats shortly after already having taken a concessionary BK contract a couple of years before. So were are effectively operating under two separate back to back concessionary contracts circa 2012 and 2014. And the company demanded more concessions in exchange for RSV improvements.

This company is the epitome of ruthless.

I wonder if this union/pilot group will send a message to Robert Isom and discuss the culture they want us to believe in.

Unfortunately you’re a contract behind - the bankruptcy contract was the last contract.

actually this is the BK contract part 2. Parker came at us out of BK for more out of our BK contract within 10 days exiting BK. So yes this is BK contract twice.

My take on this, which supports your ruthless comment is as follows.
We just lost or are losing most of our senior leadership in the union. Their stated goal was to get the PP's out the door as quickly as possible. While I am not saying they screwed anybody, the biggest winners certainly were the PP's and the company. While we did knock off a few months, we are now shackled to AA hiring numbers and months of training. In addition, as stated below, management gets to move on the people who have seen the **** and now gets to deal with a younger less experienced union. Win for the company.

Anywho, we now have new people in new positions at the union and this was a blatant attempt to take advantage of that fact. The company clearly doesn't care what we think or that we are bottom rung in terms of QOL because they are still getting people in the door.

The fact that in this environment, they actually demanded MORE concessions, even though we are currently operating under a bankruptcy/concessionary contract, just to keep negotiations open is a slap in the face with a middle finger following it up.

Its pretty sad and as someone that has often tried to take the middle ground when it comes to the company, this has changed my viewpoint on them. Instead of building a culture of mutual respect in which both sides need the other, they once again have shown that we are dispensable.

Dont come to Envoy if you are on the fence right now as I predict things will only get worse. If you have a degree and no criminal history, there are very few reasons to come here. The flow will take you a decade now and most likely won't exist by the time you get your turn.
