Which can be nice, but again the duty days are still pretty similar, obviously not always. Just saying, big picture for new hires, it’s not a drastically different experience, certainly not enough to worry over.

IMO it does make a difference when picking up OT, thats about it

It’s a huge difference. Don’t kid yourself. The 175 avoided LGA (up till now) and still avoids CLT, JFK, PHL.. the 145 is in and out of those hell holes 5 times a day.

The only hell hole you listed is CLT in my experience, some people like a little variety, to each their own.

DFW sees a lot of 5-4-4-5 leg sequences on the 145. 3-2-2-1 or similar are more frequent on the 175. But what I was really referring to was the time on reserve. You see more complaints from 145 than 175 at Envoy and WHEN you get hired has a lot more effect on that as well. And there is just no way to know what your experience is going to be. Don’t think you’ll see it again, but there was that one class with only 145s. There were a few unhappy cadets in that class...

Crew meals, a lav next to your office, a bigger cockpit, VNAV, less time wasted sitting between 5 leg days, no one making dumba$s “this plane is so tiny” remarks...

Oh, that is definitely still a thing.

Back on the CRJ once, though, a wide eyed little kid stuck his head in and said to his mother that it looked small up-front. Like a Ferrari. That was cool.

I gotcha, I’m pretty out of touch about reserve times since it changes so much, all I was getting at was pick whatever gets you an easier commute or shorter reserve compared to worrying about the plane itself.
