I'm not far away, 100 hours a month does that. I already know my life will suck for a couple of months. I can live with that.

Thankfully any lineholder can trip trade to much better trips during the trip trade window. I, and most others I know who are somewhat junior, don't have a single trip left after their original line award.

I decided to get more credit, and a week off. No problems doing that.
Gotta call BS. Certainly may happen, but not always doable. The last month before I upgraded, was about 75-80 percent on DFL, I was able to trade NOTHING and pickup NOTHING in OT. EVERYTHING on my schedule was redder than anything available and there were only scraps of OT, none of which I could pickup.

The month before I was able to make a few extra hours and shift days to have a five day block off, but no extra days off and no actual OT available that month either.

Yeah Dera is talking out his ass or hasn’t experienced redder than red yet.

What am I doing? Speaking in his defense.

DFE, some months are better than others. But I traded 3 of my 4 trips this month for a pickup of about 15 and filled the rest with OT.

However, red/redder is infuriating.

That’s another good point. For someone on reserve on the 145, iirc I read that they’re really only flying maybe 300 hours the first year, and then it’ll pick up more? Is that accurate?

In general, yes. Universally, no.
No two situations are the same.

Several 145 FO's I've talked to are below 300 hours by the time they are off probation. There are well over 100 FO's who have been on property over 2 years that haven't hit 950 hours yet, or they would be displaced to CA. About 2/3s of them are on the 145.

Some of them avoid flying as much as possible, but it is easier to do when there isn't that much flying to begin with.

N4TL, it won't even show red/redder trips. In June every trip I had had 5+ legal trades. Could trade up, or down, and move days with some flexibility. Obviously nothing like SAP at PSA, but it gives you some leeway.

Last night there was a MRY turn available for today. 7 hours of 200%, only one phone call away from pick up.

That’s my point, you haven’t experienced not being able to trade anything yet.
