The CA shouldn’t even have to be in a position where he has to get his job BACK.
No thought for the FO thy also owes back all the RTP money?
I’m sure you are yet to experience the intimidation that CS tries to put on crews to extend or be given a MA? I’m sure you will come back with ‘but you can fatigue’. True but you shouldn’t have to, and you also risk not getting paid by FT’ing.

I've never been extended, so clearly it's not a very common problem. I've had a couple of good arguments with CS over reserve assignments. I've read them the contract a few times. I've always been right and they've done the right thing in the end.

Nobody has the right to decide how anyone else should feel about their job here. Characterizing unhappy 145 pilots as "whiny kids who ***** and moan about everything" from the right seat of the 175 while simultaneously admitting you know nothing about their experience is tasteless and unprofessional. I don't know or care whose balls you wash, but your attitude is fundamentally the same as management, and that much worse because you're supposed to be a pilot bro.

Anyway, as my colleague rightly pointed out, what some of you seem to think is “normal guys and a vocal minority of entitled whiners” is actually the divide between generally happy 175 guys who’ve been on reserve for maybe 2-3 mos on average depending on hire date, and 145 pilots who are being awarded reserve involuntarily after a year and a half on the seniority list. It’s a radically different experience and while there is some overlap, the QOL is night and day.

If you get a 4-day you don't want on reserve, trust me, there will be a senior pilot who will gladly take it from you. CS cannot deny it if the senior guy is legal for it and has the same (or fewer) days left.
I don't know what your definition of "way too often" is, every single time I had RAP2 on my last day, I was released before 6pm. The RAP flips don't happen as often as you claim (which is why the RAPs would suddenly be released at 5pm).
The mid-day rest is a problem, it never happened to me, but that really needs to be fixed.
The whole example you have is stupid. If you have such limited commuting options to our bases, why the heck would you ever even consider working here? Go somewhere with an easier commute.
If your last flight is at 430 or whatever, chances are you won't have two flights in the morning either, so it wouldn't be a legal commute to any regional.

I never once had flying taken from me while I was on reserve and I flew a few four days, some had enough value I was shocked it wasn’t appropriated for OT.
Being released after 6pm on the last day, I’d say it happened about half the time.
Mid day rest is a problem CS tries. EVERYONE this happens to should contact their union rep and if they can’t get it fixed, fatigue it just prior to sign in (don’t call CS prior to fatigue call to complain about it). Really only way to solve the problem.
I commute. A really easy commute though. However, I there is only ONE flight from my hometown after 5pm. I do have two flight options prior to 9am... and 3 prior to 10am (start of RAP2) and 4 prior to 11am (start of standby 2).
But I’m seeing a theme in your posts that others caught on before me... if it’s all good for YOU, nobody else has a reason to complain.
As far as your assertion that it’s been good for you and that story needs to be told, it’d be a lot more palatable if you qualified your stories with “I got lucky, you never know what you’re going to get until you show up for class.”

That's not the theme. The theme is that Envoy CAN be good for you. I try only to comment when someone posts garbage like "we have the WORST <insert whatever you want here>", painting the whole airline with the same brush. I have no problem if someone complains about the airline not being a fit for their personal situation. But claiming the airline is a dumpster fire because of it is just plain wrong.

If you want to stop people from coming, which would likely inspire the changes you actually want, speak. If not, continue to call people names and then wonder why no one takes you seriously.
