Bonus LOA was free money or a free loan depending on who you are. It wasn't going to increase hiring or aid in retention so union was not giving anything up to get that free money/free loan. No reason to decline that. But the SCC LOA should have been declined for something more permanent. I find it particularly annoying that appropriation was intentionally carved out of the SCC LOA.

While I agree there should be something better and they have had almost five months to evaluate the ongoing train wreck, I seriously doubt ENY management still accepts that there IS a train wreck. But if they extend the LOA then folks can make up the difference to pay back the taxes and union dues when they leave for United and have to pay back the rest of the bonus.
