I’m going in on Dec 15th for a one day Orientation event. I got an email from Training about most likely not starting till end of Jan, early Feb. That being said, seniority starts Dec 15th. Does my company seniority going to hold more weight than Cadets? Possibly won’t even matter, since I’m probably not the only in the same boat. But to me it seems training is backed up a bit.
Your class seniority will go as follows: in your orientation class they will have you in order of everyone from the DEC 15 orientation with Cadets first (by date of cadet hire), then former 121 pilots, then age. When you go to Indoc it will depend how many from your original Orientation end up together. You will be senior to anyone else (including cadets) with a later orientation date.

Back in late 2016-2017 Envoy had classes of 40-60ishh people every two weeks. At the time they wanted to get people on the hook even if it meant waiting it out at home for 2-3 months before you came back for training. Based on this, I would assume the latter.
Also, looking at attrition numbers they hired 45 but had 50 leave due to flow/OAL.

but as mentioned, hiring/training is nowhere keeping up with attrition. Something has to give. Either guys getting hired now are at the leading edge of a hiring spree like in 16 or last to catch a ride on a sinking ship due to lack of staffing. You can never tell about these things…
are they giving new hire bonuses now?
either way, I’d love to have pay with 3 months off to travel the AA system, nice perk that does have value.

It should be stated, that if you’re trying to use this class as a guide to what will be offered in your class, DONT BOTHER.
One class may be all 175, while the one two weeks later will be all 145. There is no way to tell. When I interviewed, we talked about how it’ll be easy to commute to dfw/ord, then all of us got blindsided with LGA opening and we all went there. That was back in 2016 and stuff hasn’t changed. Expect to be screwed and you’ll minimize your chances of being disappointed.
For those of you who won’t read the other posts, the order in which you choose aircraft in class is cadets first by date of signing, most 121 time, then age. If your 50, you could get a good pick, could be last. The only way to guarantee to be first on the picking order is to be a cadet. Still doesn’t mean you know what base or aircraft that will be offered, just that you get first pick of the crap pile.
We don’t know how long it’ll take you to get any base. Realistically, you should be able to bid out of whatever base you get assigned in about 3-6months depending on when you get hired. Even if you are awarded it though, you may not actually get scheduled to change bases for months. All depends on the needs of the ‘voy.
You CANNOT switch aircraft as an FO. The only exception is a base closure/elimination of your equipment. Not likely to happen in the near future. So choose your aircraft and base wisely.
Rough seniority numbers for where you could start to hold a line. These are on our DECS system which is rarely updated, so these numbers are destined to be off, hence it’s just an approximation. This is out of an estimated total of about 2500 pilots on the list. I’m too lazy to look up date of hire.
Maybe hold a line on the 175
MIA - ~2100
ORD - ~2000
DFW - ~1750

There are better places. And I’m not trying to paint this place as a crap hole. Come here if you live in base and don’t care what plane you wanna fly. If you want the 175, go to republic. If you heard some rumor and think we are getting a PHX base, they hired a CPO for PHX before the pandemic, but they left for Atlas.
Just some facts, it’s been said but the first portion of the retention bonus was scheduled to get paid 2 weeks ago and wasn’t. It’s apparently on people’s paystubs who took them. They also are becoming consistently late on adding the 401k matching into our accounts. Several peoples HSA contributions have been forgotten/not deducted. These are just the money problems.
Lately, several people have been denied personal days for important things like deaths of close friends/ill family. We just received a union letter about how the company is neglecting new mothers by not following past leave practices. Not a friendly work environment.

It wasn’t just the company matching that took a week to make it to the 401k, it was the employee deduction. Don’t think this has anything to do with inability to pay or actual malice, but just lack of GAF about employees being taken care of.
The last DOH were posted on the vacancy thread. Current seniority list has slightly less than 2300.
