They also displaced most instructors, all but 1 went to the 175. And now they cant do enough long term training with the instructors they have left, and they cant train more instructors because they are so short on line captains.
They totally screwed up the airline staffing last July with those downgrades, and the effects will ripple over a few years.
And we told them this exact thing will happen. They didn't care.

But they saved money not paying people. Oh wait, the government paid them anyway. Well, they got some people to leave that they don’t have to pay anymore.

Is Envoy currently hiring? Anyone one know their hiring plans for the near future?

You see all this stuff and your first thought is "I want to work there?"

We'll probably hire next month and announce additional furloughs in September. This place is being run into the ground by management at .96 mach.

Do yourself a favor and go to an airline that has things like min day credit, trip rigs, duty rigs, etc. Envoy is run by a management team that doesn't have a clue as to how to run a modern airline. Envoy hired one cadet in the last class. Do yourself a favor, apply to Endeavor before you consider this place.

Yes they are hiring. Currently interviewing anyone and expect to be placed into training classes following recalls and those cadets who have their minimums.

It is worth noting that these catastrophic staffing decisions are not unique to Envoy. I have friends at SkyWest and Republic that say the exact same things about “we begged them not to furlough our training department” and are now scrambling to cover flying.

Yes the Voy is gonna be a dumpster fire for staffing for the foreseeable future. But so will EVERYWHERE else.

The furloughs ended up costing them close to 6 times more than what they saved.

Doesn’t surprise me. ENY is penny wise and pound foolish. And of course they will always take the option that scr*ws the employees, even if it isn’t quite “cost neutral”.

They have been playing this game of multiple back and forth training cycles that take productive pilots off the line since the forced upgrades began. I know of at least one pilot who started in the 175 with a bit of prior 121 time in his distant past. He was promptly forced to upgrade on the CRJ, and then over to the 145 before he was finally able to bid back to the 175. Four long term events in about 16 months I believe it was.
