I know it’s not in the contract, and all that, but I really wish they would allow a few FOs to transition from OFE/DFE to MFL. The guys that got displaced out of MIA in the first round of displacements got really screwed. I don’t have a good solution for them, I just feel for them.

A week after the bid closed is when it was announced MIA would be a 175 base, so a lot of those guys stayed on the 145 so they could come back to MIA

I know several who stayed 145 because that was the only MIA base. I don’t think it was done intentionally, but they definitely got screwed.
I really don’t think there is a good way to fix it because if you allowed them to transfer, you’d have to allow everyone senior to them to transfer, and now half the 145 FOs would probably be transferring eqp. I just saw that the returning furloughs are getting MFL and felt bad for the guys stuck in OFE/DFE.
It sucks to commute when you shouldn’t need to, but if that’s the worst screw job they get in their aviation careers, they should make it to 65 pretty happy.
