Training Department Displacements

EDV is in the same boat, last bid they held had 25 CA spots go unfilled. So maybe a new ENY FO needs to get 1000hrs here then jump ship to EDV for the wayyy higher CA pay. They will hire you right away and no wait for a class date. This will happen especially if the flow nozzle is slowed or frozen.

Line check airman keep doing the same thing they’re already doing anyway, perhaps with less students.
Some Sim instructors will get sent back to the line for a few months over summer.

Florida, hence why it was my 1st choice. But committing by taking the ATP-CTP while not having a week 1 start date, could leave me in a bad spot, especially since I won't be on payroll until then. PSA was offering a start date next month. At the end of the day I don't think it's worth trading delay in pay and flight experience for an eventual base at MIA and/or commuter friendly bases.

I wouldn’t give up the potential to live in your base of choice for what could be small wait in the big scheme of things.
You can always keep working while you wait for your start date.

Interesting, they were in a big hurry to get us (145 class 2/26) through training, sending 175 guys home for months but bringing us back inside of two weeks. I wonder if that timeline will change now that they're gutting the training dept.
Personally, I'd love to get furloughed. I'll be paying to work when I'm commuting to RSV in LGA and can make a lot more money doing my own thing than working for Envoy anyway. The down-the-road implications of a furlough would obviously be a pain though.
