If we’re so short on captains, why is their basically no critical coverage OT available? 2-300% OT would have people picking up flying..

Way short on CAs? Everytime I go to a bases there is a Captian on reserve ****ed off because the reserve list is 60+ people long and there is no OT left. They haven’t declared month long 200% in forever. So it’s not close to being a crisis. They can take on more flying, maybe not the amount they wanted, but they can.

EDV is in the same boat, last bid they held had 25 CA spots go unfilled. So maybe a new ENY FO needs to get 1000hrs here then jump ship to EDV for the wayyy higher CA pay. They will hire you right away and no wait for a class date. This will happen especially if the flow nozzle is slowed or frozen.

I'm sure many FOs will follow you to Endeavor if you jump ship at 1000 hours. Oh Captain my Captain!! Just be the leader and do what you advise others to do. Show Envoy who's boss!!!

Also, they can't just furlough 145 pilots. It's all seniority based. Some CAs will also be caught up too.

The CA FO ratio is very imbalanced to the FO side. YES we are also, "over staffed" on the CA side because we are on the slow side of the flying season. We are also forecasted to loose 100 CAs in the next 3 months. That's almost all of the Miami base. Even all that doesn't account for how little flying is out there right now. I have no idea what is going on with our flight file and pilot group.

Well it doesn’t take a rocket scientist pilot to make a decision about being a junior CA at ENY compared to EDV.
1.Pay
2. Positive space commuter policy
3. Better reserve QOL
4. Much much higher credit and quality lines
5. Nice try to make me look like a fool, go recruit more into the pool of koolaid.

It's simple. Either say you are leaving when you hit 1000 hour or shut up. All I am advocating is don't tell someone to quit when you stay at Envoy. All you are trying to do is increase your QOL and pay at the expense of someone else. Giving up seniority at a regional isn't the smartest thing to do in the current environment.

There's no question Endeavor is a better option for a new hire than Envoy. I don't do any recruiting. I just don't advocate someone leaving or quitting when I know I'm staying here to suffer through the next 2-3 years.

I think because of all the displacements, they don't want to run a bid because everybody will try to get out of the base and seat they never wanted to be in. I'm sure they are trying to get the majority through training to prevent sport bidding around the system.
