The Email the union sent out early May gives a pretty good explanation.

As I recall once they have gone through the vacancy/ displacement process. The leftover seats will be available for the standing vacancy bid. Once anyone hits 950 hours they can choose from the available positions in the standing vacancy. This also allows newhires to select one of the slots in the standing vacancy. This is how the company is able to navigate around the previous problem of captain slots being offered to new hires before the entire pilot group.

Because the HI6 message gives the format as <70 DFW FO E75, etc., and if that means there are 70 vacancies, that would be HUUUUGE!!!
I saw that too. Only approx 44 ORD 175 FO's they can pull, so a few lucky somebodies are going to get a huge QOL boost and a paid vacation in Dallas soon.

If it goes unfilled they will most likely just give it to NHs. Plus there's a significant number of FO 175 in the training pipeline that could bid it.

No 175 ORD FO will get displaced to DFW 175. They can't do that without putting out a displacement.

It’s disappointing getting leapfrogged by new hires but I guess that’s the point of the FO seat lock.

With regards to proffer to displace? Is it possible to proffer to displace to CA in MIA, even though it wasn’t offered in this bid, but there are CAs junior to me over there? Also Proffer to Displace doesn’t have the 1year seat lock right ?

Yes you can. If there’s backfill slots you may get it.

If you get displaced you should hold whatever your seniority holds. There doesn't have to be an open slot or backfills.

Supposed to be run on the 10th. Last time it took a few days after that for the prelim flowplan to come out.
