You need someone JUNIOR to you to move into your base and seat for you to move up the seniority list to hold a line. For an HVA, you will be a junior CA, likely in LGA. The ONLY junior CA to you for about two years will be other HVAs hired after you. The massive amount of FOs hired the previous 2 years are just now starting to meet their qualifications and when they upgrade to captain, they will be senior to every HVA CA because they were hired first. These upgrade FOs hired the last two years that are upgrading to CA are going to replace the guys vacancy bidding out of LGA so, for an HVA CA, the guys vacacny bidding out of LGA are irrelevant.

Now, if you’re talking about an FO with zero qualifiying time hired today, then yeah, the outlook isn’t nearly as bad. I also wonder if you’re mixing info you’re hearing about the FO experience vs the CA experence.
Not management...I am an Envoy pilot who actually likes the place. We’re like unicorns on the forums, but we do exist ;D

The problem I have is squaring up projections and seeming “statements of fact” from pilots vs. management. Either one side is right, or the ball comes down somewhere in the middle. I really want to be able to recommend Envoy, but the conflicting information makes that difficult. I’ve enjoyed my time here (not every minute of it, granted), and I want to be able to provide reasonably accurate information to those who ask me about the airline.

A friend who might qualify for the $45k bonus just received a new info sheet from Envoy. It indicates:
- LGA 145 Captain to start
- Ability to base transfer to ORD, MIA, and DFW in 3, 6, and 12 months respectively
- Approx. 5.5 year flow
- Lays our years 1-7 comp with the $45k and years 5-7 at AA

So, is management literally blowing smoke??? Or is this another Charlie Bucket situation where we all think it’s impossible and then it comes true. Hard to tell I guess...only hindsight will tell the story.

im curious on the whole flow thing, how come nobody is taking into account that likely hundreds of envoy pilots will be hired at DAL, SWA, UAL, FDX, UPS, etc. in the next couple of years. Everyone is basing the flow numbers off EVERYONE staying put and waiting on the flow.

I’d say that’s probably an exaggeration.

I hope it’s another Charlie Bucket situation, but I just can’t see 5.5 for a NH. There is such a lack of consistency in the flow numbers put out by recruiting. Go to their FB page and you can find them replying to people with different flow estimates on just about every post.

Not really. Classes are full through July and there’s currently an 10-12 week wait just to schedule an interview.

If management is right I will flow in a year and half from now I’ve been here almost 2 years. So I kinda hope they are right.

I wonder when we will get some good news.. PSA gets two new bases and increase in flow. PDT gets... well nevermind.. Some good news at ENY is overdue, maybe an explanation as to why we have so many Pilots and so little lines.. especially in LGA and ORD. Maybe attract more captains by raising captain pay. Something has to be brewing!

You must of not read my few post out of the tens of thousands of post out there.... I have said I expect new guys to flow in 6-7 years if attrition picks up. OR new flow numbers have to come out where its 25-30 pilots per month or 300-360 per year.

Good news? WTF you call instant upgrades and flow to mainline AA? Not to mention the bonuses we are getting.
