Doesn’t really sound like the company is very confident that they’ll have nearly enough captains from FO upgrading on property. At least for another 1-2 years.

My idea if I was in recruiting would be to offer some sort of TDY set up for the guys getting forced into LGA. I think they’d get a lot more HVA recruits if they could offer positive space to and from as well as hotels.

Not sure how to make that work contractually. Maybe home based pilots?

Heck no!!!! Nothing like this should be offered at all. Pay rates first. Reserve second.

Yes both of those would be nice. However I still doubt it would fix their lack of captains. Nobody wants to sit reserve in LGA, no matter the money. Just look at how junior the left seat of the 88 went at Delta when it was still in LGA.

Hearing that quick upgrades will be holding a line very quickly in LGA due to how the schedule will work when transitioning from training to bid award. What is the DOH for junior line holder in NCE? My assumption is that this next bid might allow many to base transfer out of LGA thus allowing HVA-types to hold lines very rapidly. That’s the only way I can imagine that scenario playing out.

IF they are close to holding a line, why would they transfer base, other than if they live in another base? ORD and DFW are super senior. LGA as a line holder wouldn’t be as bad, becuse we all know reserve is less than desirable right now if you don’t live in base. HVAs are bandaids right now for the company. Soon that pool will run out, they already can’t get more than 4-8 per class, we have 25 a month flowing... hopefully.

Lol 45k on paper... But take home? What 26k tops?

Idc what anyone says, you don't get most of it back tax season as nobody did from my new hire class back when we got hired.
