Another note to the OP... Remember that people flowing now endured five years of industry stagnation following the passage of the age 65 rule. Subtract that five years and an 11 Year pilot would possibly have only needed six years to flow (even though most weren’t even part of the flow when hired...but assuming AA employed a similar strategy but on an earlier timeline under the Age 60 rule).

Wonder if this is about to change with either a base opening or just more flying due to contracts expiring

Word is that we are going to get approval to fly with augmented crews so that f/o’s can gain flightime quicker. Seat 1A is going to be converted to a Class 1 crew rest facility so the three-man crew can have a legal in-flight rest period.

Of course, but how do you account for that in a projection? Hell, American could Pan Am itself or it could Comair II Envoy so why worry about flow time at all, right? People on property and those looking at this place are inevitably going to ask how long it will take to flow. I don’t think it’s acceptable for Envoy or even Envoy ALPA to just shrug their shoulders and say “we have no idea...anything can happen.” A reasonable projection seems fair but with a disclaimer attached that nobody has a crystal ball and unforeseen events may occur.
