Anyone who doesn’t keep their app up to date is just throwing away potential money and QOL. Why wait for the “Flow” when you can go to DAL or UAL. Heck if I was in my mid to late 40s I would persue Spirit and JetBlue before AA. You will have a better career your last 20 years. You will never see the left seat of a wide body so why wait. Spirit guarantee 4 days off after each sequence..

For the 31 attrition so far this year outside of flow where did the majority come from, CA or FO?

Very junior FO. Like, washed out of training or didn't want to put up with getting displaced to LGA.

Attrition has to be about 45% for a NH for the flow to be 6 years. 2100 pilots on property. Took out the lifers.
Year1-3/ 225 pilots per year flow.
Year4-6/ 165 pilots per year flow.
675+495= 1170.

On average 13 pilots senior to you must leave for a six year flow to occur.

Since most of the 31 was FO’s, I’d imagine some were guys not wanting the forced upgrade. Now that everyone who can be forced to was displaced on the last bid, I doubt those numbers will continue.

If you look at ORD several on the reserve list had quit. I'd assume most of our CAs are less likely to leave for JB spirit or the like. Or they would rather be able to hold Dallas as a base and are willing to wait for the flow. The longer one stays at Envoy the less likely they are to leave except via flow.

It seems to me that it will likely be a catch 22 situation with flow. The faster the flow is the more likely they will stay. The more people stay the longer the flow will be.
