If it does apply to everyone then I think it's a bad deal. Upgrades won't always be 2 years or whenever you hit minimums. We are very much overdue for a recession and if it's bad enough something like this could supposedly prevent or delay people from flowing.

I guess we'll see how big of a stinger that provision is, fuel prices are rising rapidly and low fuel prices are essentially the only reason why AAG is doing so well right now. This is especially true of Envoy with most of our fleet now being super inefficient 140-145s. Overdue for a recession is an understatement.

So to clarify, does this apply to all Envoy pilots or only those hired after 1/1/19? I've heard rumors beforehand that this was considered, but if so it would only apply to those hired after the change.

Beginning January 1, 2019, an Envoy pilot will only be eligible to be offered a New Pilot Position at American if the Envoy pilot Holds or has held a Captain status at Envoy and prior to flowing to AA the pilot must have satisfied a one-year training freeze in accordance with section 15.j.2. The requirement to satisfy a one-year training freeze, as specified in this paragraph, does not apply to Captains who are displaced.

I don't see how this could possibly be an issue. After the PPs, flow goes to 15/mo (maybe less). 15 times 11 months (assuming no flows go in December) is 165 flows in any given 12 month period. In order for the lock to be an issue, there would have to be fewer than 165 CAs on property accepting the flow. If that ever happens, something else is very, very wrong.
