Mesaba flight attendants used to get holiday pay before the bankruptcy concessions last decade. If you can negotiate it, you can have it. (until it's stolen in bankruptcy )

Stupid question; (I'm working Christmas, before anyone asks why I'm not hanging out with the family)...for our sick accrual, does that always build and carry forward? I don't call in sick much, so I've got a lot built up. So let's say I leave for another job. When I leave can I cash in my sick time and get a big check or does that accrual just disappear?

I've been reading the contract and LOAs and can't find a definitive answer. Thank you.

Ya, there's no incentive to keep a large sick bank other than it's available if something catastrophic happens. Sometimes the union knows of someone in need and it can be donated. But you lose your accrued sick time when you leave

I'm pretty sure that is no longer allowed unfortunately.

Thanks. Home is where the heart is, and mine is at F240. Picked up a trip hoping someone with kids could be home with them. Enjoy the holidays everyone!

As did I. Hope someone in MSP got the chance to be with their family.

Happy holidays all!

Yeah, Holiday pay is an extra MDG (4:12) whether you work it or not. But it is forfeited if you call in sick (an incentive for company)
