"Never goes out of style" black leather jacket. Cuz the blazer is ineffective, and the trench coat is a PITA to lug around and store.

I bought a "North Face" like jacket at the stop over store in MSP for $50. They had plain black without the Delta logo on it. You can get one with Delta on it but I chose not to. Nice clean look and warm.

Are these uniform approved pieces or just for wearing elsewhere?

Technically not approved. I wear it because it's practical and still looks good. It packs down nice when I'm in 70° FL or break it out when I'm in -15° MSP. There was talk a while ago about us getting a 3/4 length wool coat but that has since been squashed. To bad because that would look better than the Chester the Molester trench coat.

Yup, this is the best way to shop, not just at places like REI. Cabela's also has a bargain cave in store (and online). Every piece of North Face I own has been bought at a discount in one of those type places. Granted, now isn't the time of year you find the best deals, but all the sporting good type places sell stuff in a scratch & dent/closeout type area.

Anyway, looks like we are all staying warm-ish. Now what? Anyone have any good info on the Mad Dog scooting off the runway in Detroit? Was it an overrun? turn off the runway too fast without traction? or directional control issue that may resemble last year's LGA incident?

You talking the one during the last snow storm 5 days ago? If so it was a low speed runoff from a taxiway. They were under 20-40kts but had no traction on the the taxiway when the exited the runway and they went into the grass. I think they were leaving 21L and turning into T if memory serves.

A lot of fluff in RGs holiday message. At least getting 14+ new airplanes is confirmed.

Now, I wonder what "mentor our regional partners" means...
