I don't think that is correct.

That is correct. Next available class date for successful DGI candidates.

I think a lot of awac guys that are LGA based will be sure things. Maybe a handful to envoy. They can upgrade fast, live at home or keep the same commute and take a signing bonus. It's a win win for a lot of guys. Some people actually really want New York

That is accurate from what I have been told.

But getting to the interview is still quite a ways out, as DGI is for folks hired 7/15 and after, and there are about 13 of them that have made CA already, and then they have to wait 2 years to interview.

No this is not accurate. The opportunity to interview after 2 years as a captain is what is metered. Once you interview you are put directly in the pool with all the off the street hires.

That's what I meant. 2 years to interview, minimum. After the nod, you go to class. No waiting around like the SSP folks do now.

ETA: that 2 years minimum started with the first CA hired 3 Aug 15, from what I understand.

Yup we are still in that time frame. I'd expect an announcement within the next couple months and a bid out shortly after.

You pay to live here though. Brand markup.
I get the same crap weather half the year for less than half the price. If I were going to spend the New York style money, I'll do it in Miami, San Diego, or Kahului. I have kids, there is no such thing as nightlife for me anymore so I don't care how many good bars and operas are around. I need a safe playground that I don't freeze my arse off at.

I don't get it. If you're going to leave your current regional, couldn't or wouldn't you go to a major or legacy? Why switch to regional again? Not enough time? Don't think you'll get the job? just curious.

I have the quals to be hired by a major, attended the job fairs... But I would like you to PM me with the magic statements on my App that starts my phone ringing with interview offers.

You don't think we haven't thought about it or haven't tried?

I only had like 2000 hours TT and 1000 121 when I made the switch. I could have stuck it out until feb 2018 and maybe been around what spirit wants for time but I felt that was too risky of a life decision to be either hoping a lcc calls or just out of a job if they don't . So another regional for me. I'm not seeing it as a lateral move. Chance to upgrade and make more money and dgi. Sounds good to me. Only downside was I was living in base in DCA and now I'll be commuting.
