In a hiring-driving time, CVG doesn't offer much spectacular to prospective pilots. PSA has a base there, as well as in DAY, Republic has one in CMH, so it isn't really 'new' territory. Expressjet is the only RJ operator with an ATL base right now, that would make us more attractive to an interested candidate.

Let's revisit at the end of January and see if 70 actually made it. Rarely do forecasts equal actual new hires.
I personally know 4 people who in the past 60 days chose other companies over EDV because they didn't want NY. Who in their right mind would choose NY, unless they hoped to leave in a timely manner? (No offense to those crazy enough to think NY is a great place to live)

I'd move to CVG long before I moved to NY for a job. I'd personally prefer CVG over any of the current EDV bases.

We were just told in class yesterday that it takes up to six months to launch a new base (bidding probably in the latter half of that time frame), not that the six month time clock starts when the announcement is made.

Seems like NY started in Sep, with talk about it back in July. Reckon that makes sense.

So, as an applicant, I guess I'm lucky that I don't find NY un-affordable
I just hope I can land the job in time...

I'm with ya, I'd move to NYC in a heartbeat if I could. Have plenty of friends and family that live there reasonably. Interviewing soon?

I believe that surge is a result of the increase to $10,000 bonus after completing training. That may only work for a little bit. Another base outside NY would still help.
I agree though. NY or not, Endeavor is a great place to be.
