That risk could have been taken off the table before it even became an issue if the CMR/ASA MEC's had agreed up front that a staple would have been the absolute high water mark, but they refused to precisely because they wanted to take a moon shot. They were convinced that their PID acceptance was mandatory and once initiated, they would have a guaranteed SLI on the way anywhere along the staple-DOH continuum. Because of their greed (as you put it) the entire process was poisoned from the very beginning. They have absolutely no moral leg to stand on. They saw an opportunity for a windfall and took it over and above the unionism they were preaching.

Of course the "giants" upon whose "shoulders we stand" wouldn't like the current state of things relative to this issue. There's been tactical missteps and egos on all sides. But the regionals absolutely have to own their share of it, and the PID attempt in 2000 was completely mishandled on their end out of sheer arrogance and greed.
Thanks for taking the time! An early merry xmas and happy holidays...

FAA, DOT, and DOJ regulations dictate how much flying an airline can do in a specific market, as the government owns the airports. There is a special immunity clause that allows monopoly type behavior via codeshare.

Hey all, I have recurrent coming up and I was wondering if someone could give me a general outline on the events. I understand that the first day is the MV and the second day is the LOE. Is there a day of ground class as well or any written exams? Also, does anyone have any good gouges on what to study for the oral? Thanks

Recurrent ground is three days in class. Last day is CRM and an open book exam. Easy stuff. Review your FOM and if you have the systems wookbook from initial take a look through it. They'll prep you well for everything. I used all my notes from initial and the slides from systems are available on the company site.

MV is no sweat. I knew my sim partner before and we knocked it out quickly, no surprises. Had a few interesting first look events but again, nothing to worry about. LOE is painless. Winter ops, air returns, deicing, QRH junk was all there. Go slow and thorough, work as a crew, share the workload, that's what they want to see. Oral was just a preflight walk around slideshow.

Don'tlike it? Who cares.

DGI or GIP is a joke. Blame the company, that's their deal. The SSP has some protection for pilots who get it. How many have come back? 10? 5? 2?

Theres a flow at envoy. Enjoy.
How many have come back at their old seniority? The answer should be ZERO! Blame the company? My Arse! This is a ALPA screw up. Just look what happened with the XJ Flow. Some shady shenanigans. We need a pay increase plus 401k improvements. Those two things should be easy to accomplish.

Alpa screwed up protecting their existing dues paying pilots? Are you blind and stupid or just blind? Seriously, take a nap.

The company created your guaranteed interview, the union thought it was crap because they were given no input and given no to opportunity to improve it. You want a flow? I want you to. If wishes were fishes-

The XJ flow was created outside of section 1 northwest airlines scope. The XJ one was a gift because northwest was an egalitarian group who thought regional v mainline was a joke. Moak (delta mec) gifted the flow to (almost) everyone above the two reps votes he needed to be national MEC chair. *shrug* at least some mesaba guys got to move on naturally, even if it was moaks greed. Too bad the MEC chair and vicechair weren't the two most junior pilots at mesaba.

Recurrent ground school test is open book so be sure you bring FOM, CFM, and systems book.

Longevity, not seniority. Seniority was never discussed with me. All of the items being granted to returners are neutral to the pilots on property, i.e. pay, vacation accrual, etc.

If someone is getting seniority, its news to me.

I've flown with someone that was sent back from Delta, they kept seniority.

He's talking about a number of pilots numbering in the single digits that went to delta and were released during training. When that occurs they return to endeavor like it never happened.

You are thinking of the return to works (separated and returned) who are getting longevity to return. Different group of pilots.
