Has anyone had any luck with crew rates at hotels near LGA?

I also want to share one thing on the DGI that is being advertised by Endeavor. The DGI has not been tested as you must be a CA for 2 years before being eligible and no one will meet that requirement until 2018.

The DGI also has a requirement that you meet Delta's current hiring criteria. Currently Delta requires you be a graduate of a 4 year degree program from an accredited college or university. So if you have a degree and spend 2 years as a CA at Endeavor you will qualify for an interview. Great deal for those that qualify, but currently if you do not have a degree you are not eligible for an interview under the DGI program. If you have a degree and are just getting started in 121, Endeavor should be you fastest path to an interview with Delta.

PM if you have questions

Great info. But what happened to your other account?

That is the truth as it stands today.

Next comes company time. Those with 1000 hours company time upgrade based on their seniority - then they start looking for pilots that have 1000 hours 121 and the most company time of those that qualify. Then it goes by company hours and seniority. i.e. someone with 1000 hours 121 and 500 company will upgrade before a pilot with 10,000 hours 121 time and 499 hours company time.

A fast upgrade really depends on the current FOs that have 1000 company and 121 bypassing upgrade. I know there are current pilots that have well over 1000 hours 121 and more than 300 hours company time that are not getting awarded upgrades on vacancies. If we do (rumor - not fact) get new airplanes next year and FOs keep bypassing we could see instant upgrades, but if no new planes and FOs take upgrade then no instant upgrade.

Make sense?

Things are moving fast at Endeavor so we will need CAs but I do not want to see guys make lateral moves expecting "instant" upgrade without completely understanding the process and truth from someone that is not a recruiter.

PM if you have any questions.
So someone with 900-999 hours 121 time could be awarded an upgrade if there is no one else?

No, contrary to what was previously said, the only times that can be "forecast" are company and total time. The vacancy process currently requires 1000 hours of 121 time to meet the FAR minimums.

Awarded, yes. But can't go to training until they reach 1000 121 hours. Someone recently told me that he was advised to bid for CA around the 850 hour mark, based on timing.

By "no one else", I assume you mean that he has more company hours than any other bidders. From the way I understand the process, everyone must have 1000 121 hours as per the FARs, but the company time is waivable, and the company will take it down as low as needed to keep the CA pipeline flowing.

^^ See my post above for clarification on the 121 time.

TW said If a pilot is within 75 hours (+/-) you can be awarded a upgrade. I'm
Not sure if he meant company time or FAR time but I'm pretty sure he knew I not close to the company time requirement.

I've also had captains tell me if you're in the 900 range you're good. Assuming there are no other qualified pilots. And there have been unfilled vacancies

I already have the 1000 121 but I make this jump to Endeavor fully expecting to fly at least six months as an FO before possibly being in a position to upgrade and it could be longer... Much longer...either way... It will be nice to be at a company where upgrade vacancies happen consistently.

Thanks for the detailed explainer on the upgrade scenarios... Now to master this multi-fleet bidding.

Company time is the variable. It can be lowered to "0" for by the contract. Contract says 1000. FAR mins are the bottom line. So having 1500 hours and 0 in -121 doesn't work. The company wants, and is trying to hold to 1000 company- which for many is the FAR min. If someone has 1000 121 from another carrier and a vacancy comes out and nobody can or does bid CA with 1000 at EDV, the bar passes to company time numbers (flexible) but must still hit far mins assuming 75 hours a month from award to class date.

Clear as mud?
