Nor will they have to. And even if they did, you'd still see pilots leave every airline for other airlines.
Welcome back. I was wondering how long it would take before you replied

No probably not ever going to be a flow. However, management trying to sell these numbers is humorous.

I stand corrected. I had a buddy who was awarded LGA 200 CA and before he started training was awarded LGA 900 CA. I guess the freeze doesn't apply if you haven't started training

Question: Currently holding CJO through SSP and near the bottom of the list. Could they "accelerate" the class date? Not supposed to go until early 2018. Since the last SSP CJO is expected to go in mid 2018, it seems like quite a while before those other two programs started flowing. I figured to increase the movement (therefore increasing attraction to Endeavor), Delta/Endeavor might want to increase the metering of Endeavor people with CJO's into classes. Anybody have any info on this?

"Higher paying position" is the key. You can go from -900FO (any base) to -200 CA (any base). Or 200 FO to 900FO (currently, that's a higher paying position, currently). Next vacancy (you may already be on the line as a 200 CA, still awaiting class, or in the training footprint of your previous vacancy upgrade), you decide, to bid the -900. Well, yea, you still have training to do, but you go and now have a lock since it's a higher paying position. Where this would come into play is 3 ways that I can fathom for the freeze implications... 1. You get online as a -900 CA and realize you are going to be on reserve for a bit, then say "well I'll bid back to the -200". Nope, 1 year freeze in effect. 2. You say, for a multitude of possibilities, that you no longer want to be a CA, to bid back to FO (you can) but you are now out of a left seat for 2 years. 3. You upgrade (900 CA in this example) and a E175 type shows up, yet pays the same as the 900 CA in rate. Being that you just went to the "heavy" or "dream 9", you can't bid the E175 for 1 year as it's not a higher paying position. In situation 3, a 200 CA or any FO can bid the 175CA seat, as it would technically be a higher paying position.

Hope that makes sense. As as usual, the first stipulation in freezes is somethIng to the effect of "The Company may waive any or all equipment freezes on a uniform and non-discriminatory basis".

If its true that almost 700 pilots there are now at DL then that's a pretty good amount and far higher than any other source except maybe "the military" if you lump everyone from there together.

If its also true that only a few dozen have left for other airlines then I don't think that small number is something that would be brought close enough to zero by a flow in the first place. Even if there was a flow, it wouldn't be exclusive. Anyone really think DL would take 1300+ pilots a year from a single regional in order to better run said regional? No way, it would shut down pretty quickly. So even if there was a flow, it would probably be similar numbers as we see currently anyway.

And even then you'd still have some pilots leave for other places before their turn to flow anyway. Probably an almost identical number as currently seen. JMHO.

Umm no.

700 CJO's, not 700 people gone to Delta. There are still guys that are losing seniority every day and will for another year. Thank you Delta.

Now go back and fly Delta planes while you lose seniority at Delta.
