The Envoy retention bonus starts after one year, and their signing bonus is "up to" $22,100. Plenty of asterisks.

The company needs to be more upfront about the plans for bases. Many people do not want NYC for more reasons than money. DTW and MSP are more commutable for a lot of people. Other airlines' bases are more commutable.

Its not all about whether one can afford to live in NYC. Money helps, but if you waste all of you days off commuting to NYC, is it worth it? Just be upfront with the plans for the company and bases so applicants can decide where to go and low seniority pilots can make an educated decision on whether to make a move that suits them better.

Mgmt likes the base and new aircraft rumors because hope is a beautiful thing for attracting and retaining pilots. I have said it before and I'll say it again - if you are looking at Endeavor don't come here on rumors. Right now we have our bases and our aircraft. Forget about quick upgrade as new hires from 2015 are hitting the 1000 mark. We do have 200 pilots going to delta - no one knows the split between CA and FOs. We will have movement in 2017.

So if you like NY as a base come now - otherwise stay away. A new hire today looks to be in the Big Apple for a few years assuming they upgrade in 2-3 years because you will be in NY on reserve once you upgrade. Codomicile is inevitable after EFBs arrive.

PSA says you have to be CRJ typed for the $60,000, and Piedmont is saying previous commercial experience. Envoy doesn't specify in their announcement. Regardless, I'm curious to see what EDV's next move will be.

The quote from the Envoy announcement is, "New hire pilots who choose to operate Envoy’s legacy fleets of Embraer 140/145 and Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft will now receive $22,100 on day one. Our new hire signing bonus for pilots choosing to operate Envoy’s newest fleet of Embraer 175 aircraft has also increased, to $17,100. And, all new First Officers will enjoy a $20,000 retention bonus following one year of service, paid in quarterly $2,500 increments."

So, $22,100 on day one for the E-145 and CRJ, $17,100 for the E-175. So that explains the "up to".

Well how long did that last? a few weeks? I wouldn't come here. Better pay and better bases with a flow at envoy.

Ever wonder why Skywest doesn't offer big bonuses? Because they offer 20 bases I think, so people can actually have a quality-of-life and live where they want. Management doesn't get it. Hey take the free money while we can.

Wouldn't it be better to upgrade twice as fast at Endeavor? It's still taking guys with 8 years at Envoy to flow.

Just because you upgrade here faster doesn't necessarily mean you'll get to mainline faster.
