Hard to know. What I can tell you is that if the rumors of opening a ATL base by early next year are true, that doesn't leave a lot of time to negotiate an amiable merger with ASA.

Makes sense. On the fence whether to return or take a corporate gig. Former commuter and hate the thought of a NYC commute but an eventual atl wouldn't be bad.

We will not merge with another carrier. I'm pretty sure our senior leaders don't want to have that happen again.

They just finally are getting everyone on the same(ish) page with procedures. Throwing the ASA pilot group into the mix would be a complication.

So obviously we would need more LMS videos with the Top Gun anthem over CRJ b-roll.

I agree with you that there probably won't be a merger. However, there are probably other ways to make something happen that would be beneficial to both Skywest and Delta. I'm just throwing this out there, but think Comair. Not that Skywest would shut them down, but there may be an end around to transferring aircraft without the pilots.

Does INC even own the airplanes, or are they owned by Delta and leased to INC? I thought just about the only real asset that ASA owned anymore was the gates in ATL.

ASA does not exist. There is nothing there to merge. They are one entity - Expressjet that is owned by another airline - Skywest.

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that while it may be Expressjet, they still basically operate as distinct airlines, you can't cross from the CRJ to the ERJ side.. So does INC own the Delta CRJs or no, the question still remains.

From a little investigative work, only three expressjet CRJ200's are leased from delta

Good to know, sort of surprised, but at the same time I'm not.
