Double no in one interview.

Keep in mind, the DGI program may change and be different from the SSP once Delta gets the ball rolling on the new DGI interviews. They may or may not treat DGI applicants the same.

Sorry if I sound dumb, I'm just a confused outsider here.

There are multiple tests (cog, personality, knowledge and panel). Delta has this snazzy point system where it tells them whether or not to hire the pilot candidate. You can do well on all of the written/computer tests but completely bomb the panel interview and get a no. I am not too sure if they weigh every test the same. Actually no one knows.

If they strongly feel that an applicant is no good, they give a double no.

This is just my own opinion about the SSP, but I think that it probably gave a lot of interviews to people Delta wouldn't have necessarily talked to under normal circumstances. They didn't alter their expectations.

I suspect DGI will have similar results in the end.

(I am not saying this is fair, frankly the whole mystique about going to mainline is stupid... the 717 and MD80 drivers in my crashpad are doing the exact same flying almost route-for-route that I am doing in the 900... it is being paid more to do the same job and shouldn't be treated as big a deal as it is now)

Kind of a bummer with the SSP. I know Delta wants to "control" exactly who it hires, but with a failure rate that high (and with good pilots not getting an offer) it really leaves one scratching their head. Fail the Delta SSP interview, and that basically leaves you with just United if a legacy is your goal. Delta needs to change that if it wants to protect its regional feed long-term I think.

Also keep in mind that the DGI program is not a union negotiated program. There is a good reason why the company and union didn't sign an agreement. If Endeavor is sold I highly doubt they would honor it.

You raise a valid point that coming here because of the DGI program is a horrific idea.

Yes, it is a nice little thing to have your back pocket and unless some other major comes along and snags me before I interview, I will stay here until my number for it comes up likely. But Delta does not owe any of us a job.

Come here because we have a great culture, good crews, good pay, lots of movement, and a growing fleet. Do not come here because you want to pin your career hopes on a guaranteed interview with Delta.

From what I know, Endeavour's QoL, and culture beat out Envoy, pay from the charts I've seen is actually lower by hour for Endeavor but bonuses make total annual compensation equal or higher, but Envoy, PSA, and PDT have the flow, which you're pretty much guaranteed for. That's a pay raise and gets you to the majors. Going to definitely keep an eye on it and how it transforms in the next year or so. It's a tough call, still think Endeavor is leading in my thoughts by a bit, at least now I know that it's not guaranteed to get to Delta, but if you do well enough and are broadly competent you should have a decent shot to move up. Like I said before, if I don't make it into Delta and have end up at AA, United, JetBlue, or whatever, oh well. Delta is the target and I think via Endeavor I've the best shot.

Everything you typed is accurate...however Endeavor's career advancement is WAY behind. Yes they did hire a small portion of our pilots, but things are going to get interesting in the coming years. Give us Delta RJ900 pay rates!
