thx for the info.
As someone already typed on the jet, I'm not sure if that's an advantage because of knowing the plane.. or a disadvantage because I might have to unlearn some procedures and relearn them (?)
If approved, would the EFB mean purchasing your own iPad or would they provide?
I have an iPad and my current company uses EFB, so I have the Jepp App, obviously.. not sure if that matters or if it could be re-installed or whatever.
Also.. what is a typical line-holder day? How many legs typically flown? I see on flightaware that there are some short legs, like JFK-SYR.. and some long ones like IAH-JFK..

Calls & procedures are a little different, but time on type certainly reduces the stress. Both my partner and I were type rated, we went through the entire profile without needing to repeat anything.
Most folks need extra FTD or Sim time, as long as you put in the effort you'll be fine.
As for the lines, you get what you bid for :-)
This month out of LGA i have no CVG, lots of Florida, some MCI, Texas SYR & BUF. Some days are one short leg, some are 3 long ones. You will fly on reserve and on the line. Obviously the 200 has some shorter legs, but on the 900 we go to Florida, Texas, and i had one in from Montana at CVG recently.
Saturday saw a LOC to near minimums at LGA followed by an Expressway Visual 4 hours later. It's fun!
PM me if you need anything else..

As far as EFB goes, no one is quite sure how the program will be set up (self purchased, stipend, company distributed, etc...)
For a lineholder, depends on the jet. For the 200 it's mostly 30-1:30 flights, 900 can have some short legs but also 2-3+ hour legs. Depends on base, I hold a way better schedule on the 200 than 900 in my base, and the longer legs still wouldn't offset it. Could be different in NYC.

So this got me thinking... I'm currently a 900 FO and due for recurrent (rgs/sim) in October and got awarded upgrade class on the 200 in November. My last training event was back in May of this year when I did differences from the 2 to the 9.
Is there anything in our contract language that allows me to "skip" recurrent and just go for the upgrade training? The training cycle just doesn't make sense to me. Anyone who have been in this similar situation or currently in it right now?
