This is a pretty dense comment, it is dense because you really think that a flow is within reach but you don't think a better commuter policy is - good luck. Rental cars and company credit cards for dinner will happen before a flow. The company already positive spaces to/from work everyday, so your comment (which sarcastically implied that a better commuter policy was less likely to happen than rental cars on overnights or free meals on overnights or 20 days off for reserves) makes no sense.
I don't remember claiming to believe a flow was within reach sir?

Delta reserve policy
People keep mentioning Delta reserve policy but for a new 121 guy I have no idea what it is. Will someone please share what they know to be true about reserve at Delta. Upgrading is a tough consideration for me because reserve life here is the worst in the industry. We should be able to get more days off and improve QOL on reserve.

I completely agree, was just saying that it isn't completely far fetched. I think reserve rules would be number one. We could once again lead the regionals industry but setting mainline style reserve rules. Before you know it, it will be the standard and the days of 11 days off with infinite ready reserve sits will be over!

Money, QOL, and Career Progression do.
Aside from commuter hotels, I can't imagine reserve rules will improve much considering the great gains we made just 8 months ago.
Positive space? What are you guys on? That is unprecedented in the passenger airline industry. You will not see it. Too expensive.
Everyone wants these massive gains with unprecedented improvements but no one aside from the MEC and those in ATL actually know their cost. YES there is a monetary number associated with another day off. And it is MILLIONS of dollars. Even for a pilot group this small.

Where did you work before?
I didn't know early release on P1, P2, and an extra day off on P3 (CNO) was bottom feeder-type lifestyle.
I do agree though, we need to curtail the company's use of RRs. The utilization rate is criminal.

I will make a general observation about this pilot group and others across the industry, however.
Many pilots I fly with, talk to, or are just lucky enough to come across seem to blame ALPA for a lot of the problems. These class acts do join and get involved in the MEC.
Does anyone seem to wonder why "nothing changes" regardless of who is on the MEC?
It is because you don't see the big picture until you are on the MEC. When you represent other pilots you can't act irrationally and make stupid choices. There is so much information from ALPA national, Economic Analysis, Industry trend experts and the like that you quickly realize no one is out to "screw you over". The picture is much different inside the office where you are now privy to real information and real financials.
Seeing reserve rules quantified into CASH is a shocking thing, which a lot of line pilots can't understand.
