Had the CP positive space with us the other day and he mentioned 20 more -200s over the course of 2017. He was mum on more details.

More -200's aren't a bad thing. For one, if you play commodity futures at all, the price on oil isn't moving up above $100 for a long time to come. Second, there are many markets where a 50 seater is profitable and a 50+ seater isn't. Third, the -200's under the endeavor certificate (actually express airlines, but let's not go there) are the newest and lowest cycle/hour frames available.

Not saying it's something to go "woo hoo" over, but scope above 50 seats is capped out full, so 20 more -200's is 100 more upgrades and 200 more new hires for movement. The percentage of folks coming to endeavor to make it a final "career" are the minority, so roll with it. Get your time and experience to move on to a major or cargo or wherever you want to end up. Time in a -200 is the same as time in a -900. There was a time for places like Emirates where the -900 counted better by weight, but now the difference is performance, comfort, and a 2nd FMS. Don't make it sound like a c152 vs a G650. They share a type and the differences are covered in 3 days of ground school and a couple sims, for an extra couple bucks an hour in the left seat.

^^^Well put Higney.

Not to mention growth sets us up for future opportunities. If a DCI carrier is needed to absorb future flying, it can set us up to transfer folks from -200s to whatever else when needed.

Growth of fleet and therefore pilot pool is a good thing and just makes us more valuable.

If the goal is to transition the GoJet 700s to Endeavor eventually then the addition of -200s makes perfect sense. Build the cadre of CL-65 rated pilots on temporary airframes.

One thing I have learned is that Delta is not stupid. ATL is methodical and slow to act.

Does this mean Endeavor will exist in 5 years? I don't know, but we as pilots are a commodity......now.

You might be on to something. Meanwhile DL is proposing to eliminate all 50's in exchange for 50 more 76's. I don't think DALPA will fall for allowing more large ones, but that seems to be the company's plan ATM.

I'm not sure what DL MEC or the negotiating committee is trying, but I wonder if they get gutsy with the scope since there's not going to be much for regional guys in the next 5 years.

If it were me I'd lock down scope. I dont think I'll get a vote though, unless they take a while.

Also looking to change RSV call out time in NYC to 3 hours. They are looking at the possibility of Longcall RSV as it should have never gone away in the first place. They are looking to roll the bonus into an hourly pay rate, they are deciding when to do it so they can keep attracting new hires. Also a "cough" of a possible ATL base coming back. And last but not least wait for it 20 more CRJ 200 to come from the bone yard!
I think that rolling the bonus into the pay would do a lot for attracting new hires. I currently have a CJO with 9E and one of my hesitations is the MMG during training for 3 months. Living in NYC and trying to pay the bills on the MMG without the stipend can make things a little more complicated (especially with a family). Granted it will all even out in the end, it is something to think about. If you current 9E folks had to guess when would you see the possibility of this happening?
