Hopefully we don't fall for it anymore.

FWIW I don't mind the SSP and a pathway to mainline, even an aggressive one. Maybe this is the market/timing to build on something like that not only without lowering the bar at DCI but continuing to raise it. Hopefully the compensation required to attract and retain pilots will become permanent parts of your CBA rather than a band aid "bonus" program.
They can only keep kicking the can down the road for so much longer. The union said they have some numbers in mind to basically make the bonus a pay rate but I haven't heard any exact numbers. Maybe the big D will consider a flow in the future idk. A lot of people say they weren't happy with some of the guys they had flow from Compass or the program all together.

I finished OE on Friday so that could easily be the problem. Thanks!

I've never seen a negative attitude towards a DCI jumpseater and have indeed seen DL crews go out of their way to accommodate them (as it should be). I have seen some DCI jumpers act waaaaaaay too casual about it, dressed waaaaaaaay under our already generous standards and flashing an ID saying "I'll be jumpseating up here I guess" etc but have still been allowed on, even in cases where the (already liberal) rules say they shouldn't have been.

That's the exception, of course, as most DCI jumpseaters are professional and courteous and get the big picture. Are there some mainline crews that are jerks? Sure, and I can guarantee you there are the same types at DCI and everywhere.

That said, DCI is not DAL. I'm against management being able to use DCI as a shell company regardless of WO status or not, and wish we were all on one list with one CBA (although 100% staple or it never happens) that said, you have zero to gain from expecting to be a DL employee in full while at DCI or any other WO or sub.

As a pilot, if you're not on the DAL pilot seniority list and covered under the DAL pilot PWA scope section, you don't work at DAL. Period. Thinking otherwise is just toxic. Just ask ASA, Compass and Comair, or for that matter DGS or the old Comair Aviation Academy. Its irrelevant. If you want to work for DL, apply and work for DL, because currently you don't; Delta being included in the Delta Connection portion of the logo on your badge means nothing.
My favorite part is when Delta guys come up to the front to jump seat and act as if the FO doesn't even exist. We are all men aren't we? How are you going to come up to the front of a tiny little closet and shack the hand of the captain and bs with him and not even look at the FO? Last I checked it takes two to get the plane from a to b. Anytime I jump seat I recognize both pilots, since we are all human beings and all....

I hope you're wrong because the 23k bonus equates to $25.55 hr.

I've seen that on the mainline end as well from jumpseaters of all airlines and backgrounds. Most introduce themselves to the FO, but many don't. I agree its a nice touch and the right thing to do.

I think it's a culture thing with some people. Unfortunately a few haven't realized that we're living in the age where the FO does more than just sit there and be quiet.

I wish I can find those Endeavor or DCI pilots that are trying to put themselves across as DAL pilots. I haven't seen any on this message board but if/when I do I will show them your reply and put them in their place. Thanks for your clarification.

As far as negative attitudes I have seen it in full uniform. I am sure it must be my fault somehow. I ALWAYS make sure I use a Navy like term, "permission to come aboard sir" to ask NOT to expect, but still get the negative or condescending attitude. As you say though thankfully it isn't the majority.

Here is one for you. Name me any DCI or other mainline jumpseator that has mentioned to a DAL captain how to operate his cockpit without his/her asking. They might even get asked to leave if they did. I doubt any jumpseator would but it has happened to me ONLY from a DAL jumpseator.
I can assure you I would never even think to tell another captain how to.

I guess from the highly desired and huge difficulty to achieve a mainline job and especially at DAL has created these condescending attitudes that I witness mostly from DAL pilots. Don't care to have any special treatment except to be more cordial as I try my best to regardless.

From what was told (incinuated) to us a few months ago in recurrent a person on min guarantee could expect a loss. The pay would be equivalent for someone crediting 85ish hrs - at least on the FO side.

If you are an open time guru it will be a big raise.
