A20 is a bit overkill. Most common headset is the Telex 850. Seen a few with the QC/ufly setup. I've heard good things about the DC Pro-X, I'm looking into it myself.

I fly with the A20. Is it overkill? Sure. But it's also amazingly quiet.

+1 for the telex 850. My A20's felt like they were clamping after a long day of flying.

I use the speaker and the onboard handset. Not recommended.

QT halos. Not TSO'ed but I've never had anyone ask about them.

David Clark DC Pro X (with active noise cancelling). Also works well in a noisy GA cockpit if you're going to do any personal flying.

Almost a decade on the same 850's I bought as a new hire. Plenty quiet and every few years it's cheap to replace the ear seal/pad things and the mic muff thingy. Beyond that there are lightweight, easy on the ear comfort if you wear sunglasses, and are in a small package which is always helpful. O- and no batteries to deal with. When I started I sold my Bose from GA flying and got the 850's. I love Bose headsets and really all the Bose audio stuff (use Bose in the house) but for the CRJ it's a waste of space and money.

Thanks for all the input! Seems like the 850s are a popular choice and in my price range. I will look into those and the DC Pro X.
