I'm definitely not a 121 expert, I'm just trying to offer up a dose of reality. I don't think the recruiters lied to any of us, I just don't think they were kept in the loop on this huge shift when they gave us the rundown.
I would've gone to OO if I knew this was the plan, but I'm here now and planning to stick it out.

I personally wouldn't recommend coming here unless you want to plan on living in/commuting to NYC for 6+ months. There are a lot of people above you that are stuck in NYC and looking to get MSP or DTW. Getting it in the next vacancy if you are a new hire today is a pipe dream.
Don't forget: even if you are awarded the base you want in a possible October vacancy, you probably won't move until December or January.

The effective date is posted on every final notice. If you got moved/upgraded/changed equipment then it shows your training/move date right on it. Just look at the 16-03 Final Award and you will see what I am talking about.

It's like the sky is falling every 5 days. Enough.

FFS they aren't going to shrink DTW. SkyWorst was kicked out of DTW years back and the only reason they are there now is because we are picking up 50 seat flying in NYC for Shuttle America. Once the flying in NYC gets stable then you will probably see more flying come back to DTW.

All is well. As mentioned earlier, CJO movement alone will allow movement into both sides of the seating chart for Dtw and Msp.
Numbers may remain the same-ish for both bases (200/900) with growth in NYC (200/900), but movement alone to DL will allow those who really want Msp or Dtw to get it. No need to think all is lost, at the moment growth happens to be nyc, guess what- those super junior (new hires) go to NYC. When more new hires come, that backfills NYC for those who are now more senior to move to where they want. Happened a decade ago for me, will happen for the next new hire class. Guess what, it's short term and in hindsight it worked out well.
