Question for you current Endeavor guys (or anyone else who might be able to shed some light)...
Any idea how the bonus works for military reservists? If one were to drop military leave for a month or two in order to go on a deployment, does the bonus end up getting pro-rated when its paid out? Or is it always paid in full even if you've been on military leave?

I'm not a mil guy, so there are various codes and terms that I am not truly familiar with, so I'd email your rep and have it passed to a source.. But, by reading LOA 58.2.A and B, you need to be active at least 14 days in a given month or on military (only first 30 days shows as active). So if you pop out on the 15th of month 1, out all of month 2, and return on the 15th of month 3, that would be 2 months "out" but still active for all 3 months for the bonus. At least that's how I would see it as the method to be gone the most consecutively, yet be "active"....once again, contact a rep. If you were to pop out for more than that you would have a bonus prorated for months not considered active.
For those who are new or just haven't needed to look in a while, the JCBA (contract) has a boatload of LOA's. They can be found on pclmec.alpa.org (I'm guessing that will change to edvmec.alpa.org in time).

A: Probably not. The bonus is a form of short-term compensation, not a perquisite of seniority. If you were not there, you did not earn the bonus. Of course, the city can give you the bonus if it wants to-the employer can always do more than the law requires. And if you were there for some significant part of the year, you should receive at least a pro rata share of the bonus.

Regardless of any union agreements, LOA's or what ever, anything that pertains to military guard/reservists falls under the "Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act". I believe USERRA always takes precedence.
