Not sure of the contract end date, or if it's been extended or not. However, Delta has threatened GoJet at least twice to improve performance or possibly forfeit aircraft. To me, (but what do I know) this just looks like scare tactics at best. For some reason Delta continues to allow that awfulness to continue. I don't have the statistics to back this up, but I believe Freedom Airlines performance was better than GoJet, and Delta reassigned those airplanes

Just to keep anyone from taking what I said wrong... There as been no mention of closing DTW, but we have been told to expect about 50% of all our flying to be NYC based with this shifting of our 900's with GoJet/Republic flying and the 200's being shifted with SkyWest. There will still be DTW and MSP bases for now.... Down the road, who knows, there has been whispers of reopening ATL (and possibly moving the HQ there too) and possible RDU or CVG bases.
There are negotiations currently going on to convert the bonus money into higher hourly pay that would be a new pay scale for the future. That would be a good thing.

CVG would surprise me considering the shift to larger aircraft and reduction in number of flights. We do a fair bit out of RDU though. RDU or ATL could help pull folks in who don't want the north. I'm surprised DL has only one regional in ATL.
As far as 700/175s, those are on the back burner, but by the sounds of it, it's there if ever needed by DL to pick up feed; an insurance policy. We already do -700 maintenance and it would be minimal to get pilots qualified on it. But yeah, it seems to be all quiet on that front for now, nothing indicating otherwise.
As far as G7 goes, wonder if the addition of 900s last year came with an extension on the DL contract? Who right now can staff the 20-30 jets they have? Even with delays, that's probably preferable to the alternative of possibly reducing feed at one carrier to build it up at another.
I'm curious to see -200 flying in Detroit down the line, ASA does it, but their base in DTW is 7/900 only, so the deuces come from ATL. Could see the Skywest base in DTW as a way to rectify that. Again, all speculation.
Counting days to the next bonus, until then I'll keep doing DTW-ROC-LGA-ROC for four days!

Without taking more airplanes, hiring 60 a month for the remainder of the year (the stated goal) doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. Attrition, while somewhat low at this point, probably doesn't get that high.
Something doesn't add up.
