That is not good news. MSP I can afford. DTW I can afford. The NYC metro area.....not a chance.

Look, they are building up New York to cover for gojet and shuttle, hence the focus on the vacancy for it. Gojet is doing more flying from Detroit, yes, but compare our hiring to theirs, they have other issues besides cancellations. We aren't the only ones getting hit here, ASA are doing more NYC flying as a result too.

Who knows, right now we are still hiring and have plenty of folks going onwards, so there is movement. Pay is still attractive and even slight growth in this environment is impressive, hats off to everybody for working on those!

I heard this rumor. Currently 200 delivers from the desert are cancelled. This seems way left field.

If true it is probably good news, it means 700's or Embraers are coming.

We are still the largest carrier in Detroit by a long shot, and will continue to be. So no, the sky isn't falling in DTW.

Sampled from a random day this month:

95 flights for 9E
58 for Skywest
49 for Expressjet
19 for GoJets

They cost twice as much as projected for the heavy checks.

Just to keep anyone from taking what I said wrong... There as been no mention of closing DTW, but we have been told to expect about 50% of all our flying to be NYC based with this shifting of our 900's with GoJet/Republic flying and the 200's being shifted with SkyWest. There will still be DTW and MSP bases for now.... Down the road, who knows, there has been whispers of reopening ATL (and possibly moving the HQ there too) and possible RDU or CVG bases.
There are negotiations currently going on to convert the bonus money into higher hourly pay that would be a new pay scale for the future. That would be a good thing.

The 700/175 rumor died a quiet death a few months ago. Let's not stir it up just yet.
