There are hotel crash pads that will cost between $120 and $160 for the month. This would be my recommendation if you are on reserve.

NYC is gonna cost more. About $300 a month. If anyone needs a recommendation for an NYC crash pad I can PM you some info... particularly if you wanna be close to LGA.

PS, Is it against ALPA contract policy to have COLAs for a domicile? NYC needs a COLA!

I'm in the testing group for the ipad and it is working flawlessly.

Just look at the testing numbers and that will give you an idea of which way they are leaning... 80 ipad testers v 20 surface.

And to the guy who said that he prefers paper... I know that is just your opinion, but once I go through all the charts for a given airport, click the bullet by each one I'm going to be using, all I have to do is swipe back and forth to jump between charts while my captain is trying to turn a single page of tissue paper and accidentally grabbing 3 or 4. Point being, I can blast through the eCharts 4x faster than I ever could with the paper. It weighs 99% less, is a thousand times faster to update, and many other inherent bennies.

Current 135/91K pilot looking at Endeavor. Am I correct in assuming the junior base is NYC? And where is training done, MSP?

Also, I guess this is just a general question about airline pay/taxes. If you are based in NYC for example but live in a different state, where do you pay state income taxes to? If I moved down to FL (no state income tax) for example and commuted would I be able to avoid paying NY state tax on regular pay and the retention bonus? Or if I stayed in my current state which does have state taxes would I only have to pay state taxes in that state? I hope I wouldn't get taxed from both states....

You pay the state income taxes (or lack there of if you live in FL) for whatever state you live in.
