Staffing is going to get really bad. About 1/3 of the pilots we hire now at 9E are military retirees getting currency, or their pension is good enough they want to stay here for the schedule.
I just don't see many of today's young people, who need instant gratification, going through the pilot process; Most certainly not to the standard any mainline wants especially Delta.

All the time builders I talk to are trying like hell to avoid getting their CFI, but at least some of them consider it. If it weren't for the 1,500 hour rule I think the instructor wanna be pool would be much more bleak.
I posted the 2015 original pilots in my tagline line below. The numbers in I believe every category went down...(though in 2014 there were several categories that rose slightly.). My guard unit used to have fairly qualified off the street/prior enlisted candidates applying for pilot slots. Now, people are barely getting through just their private or not even that and throwing in their stuff. It's kinda nuts.

Any interesting rumors going around? All quiet since 175/700 talk died down a few weeks back.
Regarding CFI, absolutely. 75% of the CFIs I worked with had plans for leaving as soon as they met minimums. If they repealed the ATP law, most flight schools would be in a world of pain, and it would only put a quick bandage on hiring. Still takes a while to train someone from PPL to CMEL.

Anybody have good intel on a current Endeavor Gouge for FO position? I have an interview coming up soon.
I did an interview a while back with another Regional and it was as unprofessional as I could have imagined. So, I dont want to use that as a gauge because what I have seen so far is that Endeavor is much more professional.

I submitted mine on there way back when and all of the current ones I've read are spot on.

I'm a 2011 new hires, and while they were doing the DL program for interviews, I wasn't included in "that" interview process. Not sure if I got the email or not because they recalled the email shortly after.

I will say this, at my old flight school where I finished up my flying and then went on to instruct at....they used to have about 12 full time instructors, and that might be a low estimate. Now they have a cobbled together staff of a couple part timers and the owner himself trying to keep the operation going (what's left, they sold off over 3/4ths of the fleet ina about ten years). So clearly the student output is almost nil.

On the jumpseat, no, 9e gets first priority... (and on all but 5 of the CRJ900 can use the spare FA jumpseat if there's no FA needing it) As for non rev I believe it's equal priority code and then based on date of hire so if you are hired before the Delta employee, you go first, if not, they go first. But traveling standby has become so obnoxious, I don't bother much anymore and may be out of the loop on the latest non rev priorities.

On mainline Delta has priority, then Endeavor, then other Delta Connection carriers, then offline pilots. Both for the jumpseat and for nonreving
