Soooo question -- If I haven't heard anything within a few days of applying with 4800TT, 3800PIC, and 1300TPIC, is it possible that something on my application is holding me back? or am I being too critical with the timeframe (seems like most people were getting calls within 24 hours of applying, which is why I ask)...
Thank you for any insight provided

Almost all of the people in my class, and the surrounding classes, had zero 121 time coming in. With the severe delay in training at the beginning of last year, my buddies from the February class are just shy of 600 hours right now. What I'm hoping the company realizes is that, company policy or not, most of the guys will not be ready to upgrade due to the FAA minimum. It may only be a couple of extra months to get those 1000 hours, but I don't think they'll be ready. I know with the rate I'm getting hours, I probably won't have them either when the upgrade comes. Will that force street captains?

Yeah, I guess it varies from class to class. Me, I don't think I would mind the street captains, but I'm very naïve to the whole 121 and seniority-based world. I guess that is something they'd have earned, so the more power to them. And our seniority numbers would definitely trump them when we upgraded, leaving us to line-up quicker. Goes both ways I guess.

Just went through it all again line-by-line with a buddy. We didn't notice any apparent issues, so I'll hold out a few more days. I appreciate your help, sir or madam!!

Hornet...you are exactly right that if the need exists and you guys can't by regulation upgrade then the ones that are eligible could be upgraded ahead of you with the 121 experience from other airlines. That said, when you do upgrade you would jump ahead of them. You could get a line and they'd stay on reserve. Not such a bad deal eh? For now just try to fly your butt off (if you can pickup on days off).
Whoareyou...good question as I wonder the same thing. Union did say wirth regards to vacancy bidding that just because ones name doesn't appear in the initial, one could still appear in the final if there were enough withdrawals. Well there were plenty of em and with 9 total NYC 200 Captain primary vacancies not filled they should have just kept going down the list to see who was bidding for CA...but they didn't. Are we already out maybe of eligible captains! Those slots mean lines for us as captains if they are assigned! FML...FYL! Hehe. Higney your wisdom is requested!

I wouldn't look into it too deep. The NYC -200 bases aren't slated to start til September and TDY language for short term staffing already exists. To an actual answer, I dunno, and asking likely won't get an answer that makes sense on a small scale but makes sense on the overall scale.
Upgrades are happening quickly and the NYC -200 bases will sprout and grow. For now the seeds are just being put down so don't analyze it too much. By the time JFK and LGA -200 open it may already be old news as co-domicile may be in place anyway and all the bases are simply 200/900 in Msp/Dtw/NYC. Think about what has happened in the last 12 months, 6 months from now will only be more good news as long as new hires keep arriving.
Get the time, fill out your bid cards, and don't worry about the minor details.
