Please post what you hear in this thread, I'm sure a lot of us are curious.

Follow up question might be "how will the markets currently served by the 50 seater be served if they go away? With what frequency? What if our competitors do not replace the 50 seater and maintain their current frequency?"

I bet a lot of the EAS, essential air service routes that are subsidized by the government to the small cities will start being picked up by smaller 135 companies. Like the current one I work for using Saabs, Jetstreams, etc.

Exactly! Just like it was 25 years ago. People will just have to drive to a nearby town that is big enough to support a couple RJ's per day instead of having a 50 seat plane going into every little spot on the map. They've been able to support that type of infrastructure with the years of abundant pilots. Now, it's back to the old days...and the cycle continues to come full circle.

I'm not sure if the 50 seat market is going away. I think it's more like the 75 to 100 seaters are just going to take over those routes. I've noticed that most of the flights I've been on have been mostly full if not oversold. I think it's rare that the flights have been less than 95% full. I've been told that they may be going the way of bigger planes and maybe less flights to accommodate. Just what I've heard. Thoughts?
