It will be luck of the draw as to where you are based on your class. In my class, no one under 42 got their pick. Talked to another guy, class of 19, he was in the very middle. At age 53.

Yes but the timing of the interview is the big difference, right?

Timing would have been the same, you'd be eligible after two years of captain service. That was what the ALPA MEC didn't want. Unfortunately, Delta will most likely stick to their guns and our group will be stuck with the DGI.

Bummer. From what I was told of the uSSP, the interview would be "immediate" and if you passed, you'd move up after 2 years as a captain. I know it seems like semantics, but I think that is a HUGE difference.

Not such a bummer. Consider that to get an interview last year, guys were having to wait 8-12 years to make CA, then 2 years before the interview. (10-14 years)

If hired today, the wait to CA will be more like 2~2.5 years, plus 2 more before the interview. (4-4.5 years)

That was then and this is now. The 2 years as captain isn't what I'm asking about. It's when the interview is. I was asking what the difference between the two programs is and expressing my opinion that the immediate interview would be much better than waiting two years as a captain JUST to get it then.

Exactly, its BS. They want to string you along until you have enough time invested to make you want to stay when they tell you NO in the interview.

Exactly my point. Tell us now, show us some loyalty and it will be returned. Easy, right?

I have heard of senior FOs at endeavor with CJOs. How did they get offers before making captain?

Just a SWAG, but pre-DGI guys maybe? Those who are senior enough to make CA, but prefer QOL while waiting to move over perhaps.
