I've heard rumors that the ballistic nylon flight kit doesn't fit in the -200 cockpit. Better off getting leather or just cutting the pockets off the nylon bag?

If you get the morning shift, yes you'll have to come in night before. The good thing is that you're released early on your last day of reserve, so most of the time you can catch a flight home on the last day. My airport has a 6am out and a 10pm home so I'm pretty good for same day commuting. If your in a hub or smaller airport with only 1 or 2 flights then it could get rough but still doable.
How many months on reserve?

On the 200 looks like its 2 months of reserve, if that. On the 900 i think it's still 6 months. I commute from the west coast and was able to get home on the same day during reserve and come in on the same day if it wasn't P1, so CLT should be a piece of cake, especially with American. Just be sure to list onlinr with American or call and list.

I've seen a fair amount of guys carrying them around. I've never flown with anyone who carries one. Don't throw too much money into a flight bag only to use it for half a year.

A guy from my class got a line this month after only 2 or 3 weeks of a build up line. Looks like I'll have a month of it maybe two since I was sort of junior in my class overall. Thats 200 though.900 is longer. Maybe 6 months or so.

I had a nylon one from Office Depot or Max for a while and it fit just fine. It's usually the ones with wheels you have to worry about.

I have a nylon one with side pockets and it fits. Just can't put anything in the side pockets, but I don't see a reason to cut them off

If you can track one one, the Luggageworks vinyl fits, and you can fit the three Jepps, a CFM, trip binder, and headset in it perfectly. Might be available off eBay or some pilot stores online.

The Heritage Vinyl case is what some are buying now, its around $50 and looks similar to the Luggageworks.

Hey guys,

Just finished my CTP course and I'm headed off to the April 25th class. Any tips or tricks for indoc? I've been through the 135 ringer so I'm assuming its more of the same.
